View the cam again once the temperatures drop and snow has fallen and the scene will have sprung to life. The Vogel Ski Resort is only an hour away from the Slovenian capital, Ljubljana, so is a popular wintertime escape for folks from the city who like sliding down mountains on those planks of polished wood known as skis. There’s twenty-two kilometres of slopes plus several kilometres of trails specially conditioned for cross-country skiing and if that’s not enough, a snowboard park. Until the first snowfall though you’ll just have to make do with the picturesque views of the Julian Alps while wistfully dreaming of a frosty flake or two.
