Peregrine Falcon Webcams in Burgos
If you’re a fan of peregrine falcons you’re going to be hard put to choose which falcon cam to watch on this website. There’s quite a collection for you to pick your way through and they’re coming from diverse places all over the UK and Europe. Some falcon cams will provide you with a decent view to look at if the bird in question has happened to go fly-about, but others don’t. Some, like these two live feeds being streamed from Burgos, a city in northern Spain, won’t provide you with a view. Stay with them for a while and you’ll be delighted with a close-up view of the resident birds. And it doesn’t get better than that.
According to some statistics, published by a Spanish bird monitoring program, there are currently less than three-thousand pairs of peregrine falcons residing in the country. While that might mean they don’t have to argue about territorial rights, they’ve got half a million square kilometres to fly around in after all, it does mean the conservation of the species on Spanish grounds is reaching a concerning level.
Hopefully the peregrines that are occupying the nesting sites provided at the Divine Valley Hospital and the Museum of Evolution in Burgos will continue to do so. And reproduce too in the years to come so the numbers of the fastest bird on the planet living in Spain increases to a decent level. Stay tuned long enough and you’ll see the Divine Valley Hospital bird strutting his stuff, he’s a total show-off, and one of the other falcons washing off the city grime in the bird bath at the Museum of Evolution. They’re a sight to behold.
