Barn Owl Camera in Bird In Hand
It has to be said that barn owls are not always the best of housekeepers. Their nests can often look pretty messy once the chicks have emerged from their shells. As any mum knows, the needs of the offspring come first and tidying up can always be done later when they’re sleeping – if they ever do.
Barn owl chicks, or owlets to give them their correct name, stay nest-bound for around seven weeks before they fly off and find their own roost. If you join the cam when the owlets are about to become independent, don’t worry. Barn owls tend to increase their family members twice a year so keep checking back, the best times are April and October, if you want to catch the next brood and follow them from egg to fledgling.
