Marunuma Kogen Ski Resort Webcams in Katashina
When you want to join in the fun on the slopes at the Marunuma Kogen Ski Resort in Katashina, Japan, without getting chilled to the bone, these webcams are the best way of doing it.
While the Marunuma Kogen Ski Resort might not be the biggest ski resort in Japan, as you’ll see on these live feeds, there’s plenty going on. The fact that the ski resort is located on the western slopes of Mount Kusatsu-Shirane, an active stratovolcano, doesn’t seem to deter anyone from making the most of the annual snowfall.
The volcano last erupted in January of 2018 after which it quietened down again. While the volcano’s three glacier lakes are currently out of bounds to visitors, the snow hasn’t melted so the slopes are open. The best advice you can get if you’re planning on going skiing here is to practise your slalom routine to perfection. That way, if the volcano does erupt while you’re skiing, you’ll be able to skim James Bond-style past the lava flows.
