If you’re an adventurous hiker who wants to trek the scenic trails of Nepal, one of the places you might set out from is Jomsom.

Jomsom is a remote village in the Mustang district of north-east Nepal on the banks of the Kali Gandaki River. Close to the Tibetan border and at an altitude of nearly nine-thousand feet, Jomsom is surrounded by some of the highest peaks in the Himalayan Mountains.

Hiking in the Himalayas is not for the faint-hearted. The Annapurna Circuit, one of the most frequently undertaken, is a hundred mile plus hike around the Annapurna Massif which reaches an altitude sickness inspiring eighteen thousand feet in the Thorong Pass.
