Haeundae Beach Webcam in Busan

South Korea probably isn’t one of the first countries you’d start researching when planning a beach holiday. After a few minutes of viewing this live feed of Haeundae Beach, you may well begin to consider adding it to your bucket list of places to visit. Although the beach is backed by the mega-metropolis of the city of Busan, it appears to have a lot going for it and for once, appearances are not deceptive.

As a resort, this coastal stretch of Busan has all you’d need for a top notch holiday. The one and a half kilometre long beach of pristine white sands is a magnet not just for sunseeking vacationers, but to many of the city’s three million odd residents. It’s the go-to place especially in the summer months when the temperatures climb to 30°C and higher and the humidity levels reach saturation point. When there’s not a breath of fresh air to be found at the beach then it’s time to start searching for a bar or restaurant with the airconditioning on full blast.

Head to Haeundae Beach around the middle of May and as well as elbowing your way through the sunseekers, you’ll be fighting for space with enormous sand sculptures. For one week in the late spring the beach hosts the annual Haeundae Sand Festival. It’s a festival where talented artists gather to create giant sculptures, think pyramid-sized, representing the year’s chosen theme. No they don’t use all the sand on the beach, extra is shipped in specially for the occasion so there’s always enough left over to spread a towel on.
