Webcams in San Francisco, Guatemala

You’ll need more than a pair of high-powered binoculars if you’re hoping to catch a glimpse of the Golden Gate Bridge on these webcams. If that’s what you wanted to see, you will in fact need to change feeds as this collection is focused on San Francisco in Guatemala. What you get on these feeds is a tour of a municipality named after St Francis in the north of the country which bears no resemblance whatsoever to the city of the same name in the United States.

This San Francisco has its own Central Park. But take a quick look at the two park feeds and you’ll soon realise that its naming may be more down to its general location rather than it being comparable to the more famous park in New York. That said, it’s a place that doesn’t particularly need acres and acres of green as this San Francisco’s population doesn’t exceed a few thousand. And if you feel enticed to venture through the rest of the feeds, you’ll see there’s more than enough trees growing wild to absorb the carbon dioxide emitted into the local atmosphere.

What will catch your eye, if you flick through the feeds, is the tin roof on the Municipal HQ building. As well-maintained as it appears to be, working inside must be quite interesting when there’s a torrential downpour. And rain it does in Guatemala especially between May and November which is known, for want of a better description, as the rainy season. With a solid six months of pit-a-pattering echoing through the building, it’s amazing anyone manages to get any work done.
