St Petersburg is a city in Russia which knows how to keep its elegant facade intact. No skyscrapers are allowed anywhere near the UNESCO World Heritage Site center to spoil its 18th century appeal.

This attractive Russian city occupies a wide bay in the Gulf of Finland, has three major seaports as well as multiple river ports and more industries located there than there’s room to list. None of that is permitted to detract from the beauty of the inner city though.

Wander St Petersburg’s streets and you’ll discover enormous palaces, even bigger squares, Baroque churches, parks and more museums, theaters and art galleries than you could visit in three lifetimes.
