Turbaza Amusement Park Webcam, Arslanbob

If you discovered this webcam after your cat walked across your keyboard, you have a very clever cat. This country’s name has a very strange combination of letters that will no doubt make you pause for a moment while wondering how they did it. If you actually typed out webcams in Kyrgyzstan yourself, fair play to you because it’s definitely a word that’s neither easy to spell or easy to pronounce.

Arslanbob is a settlement in the western region of Kyrgyzstan which has a history dating back to somewhere around the 11th century. A small village it’s not as it has a population bordering on sixteen thousand which is quite numerous for such a remote location. Most of its inhabitants appear to head to this amusement park and who can blame them. Not only are the rides thrilling, but the views you get of the surrounding mountains as you’re spun around are second to none.

As it goes, mountain villages are not renowned for being overly exciting places. They’re usually more focused toward quiet rural life than they are adrenaline thrills. They’re where you head to to take a hike while enjoying some spectacular scenery and a breath of pure mountain air. And that’s what most folk do when they go to Arslanbob. But in autumn everyone goes literally nuts in Arslanbob. Why? That’s when it’s time for the walnut harvest. All the walnut trees in the world are reputed to have originated from this region of Kyrgyzstan. Whether that’s true or not is unproven. But still, it’s an interesting anecdote to impress your guests with while cracking a few shells open after your Christmas dinner.
