Lanškroun may seem to be a small, nondescript town in the eastern region of the Czech Republic, but it’s one with quite a bloody history. The last few decades have seen a shift away from the past though along with the renovation of many of its buildings, the Town Hall included.

This Lanškroun webcam focuses across the town square onto the magisterial Town Hall. The church-like structure is where the locals have been going to pay their dues in taxes for several centuries. So if you see folks walking across the square in that direction with their shoulders slumped and heads bowed, you’ll have a pretty good inkling why.
