Central Sarajevo Cam

Sarajevo is hard to beat when it comes to picturesque European cities. Nestled between the high peaks of the Dinarides mountain range and intersected by the broad Miljacka River, Sarajevo’s scenery is as attractive as its cityscape.

This capital city of Bosnia-Herzegovina is characterized by the red-roofed buildings of its historic Old Town, its many bridges, fountained squares and a one-hundred foot high clock tower. Not everything in Sarajevo dates back to the Ottoman times and the city has its fair share of modern architecture. The Avaz Twist Tower and the Sarajevo City Center complex are two spectacular examples.

With mountains all around and a climate to suit, Sarajevo has become a popular winter sports destination. Those not wanting to hit the slopes on skis can still enjoy the snowy vistas by taking a ride on the Sarajevo cable car from the city center up Mount Trebević.
