Narvik City Centre
Compared to many other city centres, Narvik’s is what could be considered, in a roundabout way, as very open-plan.
Narvik is a port on the Ofotfjord in northern Norway that has a long maritime history. It may be in the north of the country, but the port is ice free all year round because of the warming influence of the Gulf Stream.
Once used by the Vikings, who set off from there to go adventuring in their longships, these days Narvik port is used by freight ships carrying iron ore and other cargo which is nowhere near as exciting.
