While you might not spot a lot of trains or even passengers waiting to board them on this live feed streaming from Zandvoort station in the Netherlands, you will get a glimpse of the pristine platforms, some badly strung cables and desperate pigeons pecking like mad in the hope of finding a stale crumb or two.

Bear with it, while the station does have its busy moments during peak commuter hours, it gets a lot livelier in the summer when Zandvoort morphs into the coastal resort almost everyone in Amsterdam wants to escape to and who can blame them. Amsterdam may be a tourist magnet, but it doesn’t have the amazing beaches Zandvoort does. You can’t kite surf down city canals either or at least not without getting arrested. Watch the cam for long enough and you’ll realise that this town does have one thing in common with the country’s capital and they frequently get left at the station in their masses. Here’s a clue.
