Montenegro Panoramic Webcam

This view of Montenegro may have you Samba dancing around your living room if this Brazilian location was what you were searching for. If you were hoping to catch a glimpse of that attractive country of the same name with a beach-strewn Adriatic coastline, keep looking. You’re way off the mark. If you were searching for Montenegro in Colombia, well,  you’re closer, but still in the wrong place.

This Montenegro forms part of the Rio Grande do Sul, a state in the southern region of Brazil, and is definitely not renowned for its coastline as it doesn’t have one. And while the view on this panoramic live feed makes Montenegro appear like a small rural town, it’s not. This urban spread is occupied by over sixty thousand people which is, as populations go, no small number. What do those folks do when they’re not working? That’s anyone’s guess, but it could be any of the following.

Montenegro is a municipality, founded around a century and a half ago by German settlers, that’s peppered with churches both old and new. A leisurely day off might include joining a service followed by a hike up to the hillside viewpoint where there’s a statue of St John the Baptist. No, it’s definitely not competition for Christ the Redeemer nor is the view from the top anywhere as near as stunning as that of Rio de Janeiro, but it may be worth the trek, or so it seems, on a sleepy Sunday afternoon when there’s nothing else to do.
