Skiathos Harbour Webcam
When you’re longing to go island hopping in Greece, but just can’t get enough time off work to fulfill your dream, this webcam is not a bad substitute. It’s ideal too if you’re one of those unfortunate folk who gets nauseous every time they leave terra firma in a sea-going craft as there’s no getting on a boat involved. With this live feed you can pay a visit to Skiathos without suffering a moment of sea sickness. That’s a win-win situation all round.
Skiathos is the epitome of what you’d expect a Greek island to be. Part of the Sporades archipelago, this fifty square kilometres of land surrounded by the Aegean Sea, has it all and more. Its rugged coastline is dotted with endless small beaches backed by stunning white limestone cliffs. If just looking at the views on this webcam gives you a sense of deja vu even though you have yet to visit there, don’t worry. It just means you’ve watched too many reruns of the movie Mamma Mia which was partly filmed on the island.
Here’s a gentle word of warning. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself viewing this live feed of Skiathos harbour time and time again. It really will transport you to where you’d like to be. So much so, you may well start hallucinating and imagine you can smell the scent of pine trees, wild thyme and oregano on the breeze emanating from your desk-top fan. If that doesn’t happen, grab a pot or two of herbs from your kitchen cupboard and sprinkle them across your desk. Guaranteed, it’ll have pretty much the same effect.
