The Serra do Rio do Rastro is a magnificent mountain range in Brazil with several high altitude view points where people go to catch the spectacular sunrises and sunsets. Even more spectacular though is watching vehicles negotiating the SC-390, a road which snakes over the mountainside. It’s so hair-raising it’ll give you goosebumps and it gets worse when snow starts to fall as it often does at an altitude of almost five thousand feet. Scary is not the word.
