On a scale of one to ten, it has to be said, this is an airport live feed that registers on the lower range of the scale as far as exciting viewing is concerned. That is, unless you seriously enjoy staring at plastic chairs. Depending on when you join the feed, you might give it a one or a two if there are people lounging around waiting for their flight. But, when all said and done, what’s on the screen of the TV and the departure board in the background are probably the most interesting things you’ll see on this cam. The only other thing you might find fascinating to observe, if there are people present, is just how much time folk spend scrolling on their phones while waiting for their boarding time to be announced. Yes, this cam is that exciting.

Kaohsiung Airport, while it may not appear so on this terminal feed, ranks as the second busiest in Taiwan as far as annual passenger numbers are concerned. The people you’ll see sitting here, in a state of what can only be called suspended animation, are some of the almost six million people who pass through this airport every year. Where are they going? The majority are heading to either China, Thailand, Malaysia or Japan which, while they sound like exciting destinations, are probably not if you’re heading back to your homeland.

While Kaohsiung Airport may not be one of the busiest in the world by a long chalk, its singular runway still caters for around sixty-thousand flights a year. Its concrete runway, which measures just over three-thousand metres, supports the take-offs and landings of aircraft carrying not just passengers, but a good few thousand tonnes of cargo too. No, sadly you can’t see any of that aviation traffic on this live feed so you’ll just have to make do with passengers resting their buttocks on plastic seats before take-off.
