The viewing angle of this 1000 Islands bridge webcam makes this amazing structure look even more of an astounding feat of human engineering than it is. And that’s saying something because this bridge is literally breathtaking. It’s not just one bridge, but five.

The 1000 Islands bridge system spans the St Lawrence River connecting Alexandria Bay in the US state of New York to Ivy Lea in Ontario, Canada. The bridge system is almost 14 kilometres long and incorporates just about every kind of bridge type that can be constructed. When it was first opened in 1938 traffic crossing over the borders wasn’t too hefty. Now the complex creation carries over two million vehicles between the two countries every year.
