This famous landmark and prized Monopoly property had a rather less luxurious sounding birth, being constructed for the purpose of keeping sand out of the hotels back in 1870! It’s been through a handful of expansions and refinements and with the legalization of gambling in the 1970s, the boards have been trodden more than ever since.
