Weston-Super-Mare Pier and Beach Webcams

These two cameras give you a choice of views across Weston-super-Mare’s enormous sweep of sand, one looking back towards the seafront from the Grand Pier and the other pointing north towards Knightstone Island and Worlebury Hill. There’s plenty to watch when the beach is busy, from paddlers and sunbathers to whatever seasonal attractions have appeared along the promenade. On a sunny summer weekend, finding an unoccupied patch of sand may be the main event.

Weston sits on the Bristol Channel and is famous for its particularly dramatic tides, which explains why the sea can sometimes appear to have packed up and left altogether. As the tide retreats it exposes a vast expanse of beach, while at high tide the whole scene changes again. The northern view takes in Knightstone Island and Marine Lake, while the pier camera gives a broader look along the resort’s main seafront.

Both feeds are hosted by the Grand Pier, which stretches around 400 metres out from the shore and has been entertaining visitors in various incarnations since 1904. These days there’s an indoor amusement park at the end, alongside cafés, events and all the traditional opportunities to spend considerably more on the pier than you intended. Between the two cameras you can keep an eye on the weather, the crowds and, most importantly, whether the sea has come back yet.
