Located in the southwest of England, Somerset and Avon both have breathtaking natural scenery. Human settlement is known to date back to the times of the hunter-gatherers when much of this area was a waterlogged marsh. Somerset also has a mystical history around Glastonbury Tor which is thought to be the island of Avalon mentioned in King Arthur’s legend. Bath and Wells both date back to Roman times.
