One glimpse of this live feed being streamed by JazBaz from the interior of a barber shop and you’ll soon notice, that while the barbers may be cramped for space, probably a major understatement, their clippers just keep on clipping without pause. There’s about as much non-stop shearing going on here as there is at an Australian sheep shearing competition.

Should you be impressed by the precision of the barbers’ trimming, and you should be as they’re pretty good at it, and are contemplating booking yourself in for a cut, unless you’re in Davao City in the Philippines, you’ll have a long way to go. You won’t get much attention if you’re a female either as this is a dodong or better said in English, a men’s hairdresser.

If you’re lucky enough to be in Davao City on a visit, and even if you don’t need a trim, it’s still worth dropping by the Agdao Public Market where this shop is. The market, as most markets are, is a hustle-bustle of activity from early in the morning. While you may not want to load up with fresh local produce, you will be tempted by the street food. Particularly popular after an over-indulgence of Lambanog the night before, is bulalo, a beef soup that’s so hearty it would cure anything including a palm liquor-induced hangover.
