The Eiffel Tower and Cityscape of Paris
This is one webcam view that doesn’t need a great deal of explaining. While the cam might not be angled to show the best of the Paris skyline, it does allow you to get a good look at the French capital’s iconic attraction, the Eiffel Tower.
The Eiffel Tower has been an outstanding part of the Paris landscape since it was completed in 1889. For those who like to contemplate statistics while viewing the tower, here’s a few. The tower was built to be the centrepiece of the 1889 Paris Exposition and is named after the engineer, Gustave Eiffel, who oversaw its construction. The tower is three-hundred and thirty metres high and is made from seven-thousand, three-hundred tonnes of wrought iron. The good thing about this cam is, unlike the six million visitors annually who go up to the tower’s observation deck, you don’t need to queue for half a day to see it.
