Hummingbird Feeder Cam

One of nature’s amazing feats, the hummingbird is able to flap it wings at breakneck speed (53 beats per second on average for North American species) whilst keeping its body perfectly still in order to feed. They never stop flapping in flight too, and their hearts can beat up to 1,200 beats per minute. With such energy expended, they can take on up to 14 times their own body weight a day in sugar water!

Watch these colourful and amazing creatures refuel on this fascinating webcam located in the Davis Mountains in West Texas. If it’s dark, you can rewind the camera to get to daylight scenes. It’s mesmerizing to witness!
