St Naum Monastery is a multi-turreted, medieval monastery located on the southern shores of Lake Ohrid in North Macedonia.
The monastery is dedicated to St Naum who was a revered Bulgarian writer and missionary who founded the site in the 1st century. The monastery sits on top of a high plateau and from the towers of the imposing building it’s possible to see not only across the massive expanse of one of Europe’s oldest lakes, but right the way over to the neighboring country of Albania.

The image that you are presently showing is indeed from the Ohrid Lake, yet, this place is 35 km away from the monastery which is in its title, supposedly showing it.

Thank you. Yes indeed, there used to be a view of the Monastery which seemingly went down and therefore was removed from this page but the description was left with the hope it would return. We’ll look at a rewrite if the camera is gone forever, but are still on the lookout for its return at the moment!
