Total Solar Eclipse Webcam, 8th April 2024

The rock group Dire Straits sang a song which included a line that went something like – turning all of the nighttime into the day. Well, on the 8th of April, 2024 that saying got flipped as a solar eclipse turned the daytime into the night.

Total solar eclipses, when the moon completely blocks the light from the sun, happen quite often but unless you’re in the right part of the world at the right time you don’t get to see it. Watching the world dip into darkness can be quite scary and if you’re not wearing the correct eye wear you risk eye damage when the sun emerges from behind the moon. The good thing about viewing this eclipse via webcam is you don’t need to splash out on a pair of ISO-certified specs to see the phenomena safely and if you’re afraid of the dark, as you’re at home you can switch a light on without spoiling the effect.
