Schlüttsiel Dock and Island Camera

Before civilization and technology was advanced enough to give us the internet, the folks inhabiting the islands you can see on these live feeds from Nordfriesland in northern Germany quite possibly thought they lived at the end of the earth. While it might not be quite that, go much further north and you’d no longer be in Germany but in Denmark.

There are around ten small islands, or halligs, off this section of Germany’s Wadden Sea coastline. Grode is one that’s populated and has a grand total of seven people residing there. Others in the group, like Habel, are only for the birds and form part of the Schleswig Holstein Wadden National Park which is dedicated to seabird and marine life conservation.
