Freudenburg Town Webcam

Ask a child to draw a picture of a mountain village in black and white and, even if they didn’t know a thing about geometric shapes, they may well come up with something that looked like Freudenburg.

Fruedenburg is a village in southwest Germany with a historic centre of unusual timber houses dating from the 17th century. Seen from a distance, as they are on this webcam, the houses could easily be part of a model village, but they’re not. At first glance they also look as if they’re exactly the same, they’re not. Each one is unique. Don’t stare at the image for too long while trying to discern their differences though as all those squares and triangles adorning the facades of the houses, as pretty as they are, will make you go cross-eyed.
