Inta Views in the Komi Republic

Inta is a town in the Komi Republic of Russia that is literally miles away from anywhere else, but it’s surprisingly one that many people visit.

Inta is a relatively new town as it was only founded in the first half of the 20th century and its one historic monument, the Inta Water Tower, only dates back to the 1950s. The fifty metre tall tower was built by prisoners of the Intalag concentration camps and serves as a constant reminder of the cruelty that was practised by the Gulag in the forced labour camps during the days of the Soviet Union.
