Texas Webcams
Texas is the second largest state in the United States after Alaska. The word Texas when used by native Americans means ‘friends’ or ‘allies’. Some of the largest cities in the US are found in this southern state including the capital Austin; the largest, Houston; Dallas-Fort Worth and San Antonio.
Its proximity to Mexico shows in its Tex-Mex cuisine and culture as Mexico controlled the territory until 1836. Oil discoveries in the early 1900s began an economic boom and today the state is a leader in export revenue.
It is also a major producer in agriculture (it has 16 million cattle), petrochemicals, electronics and aerospace. The Alamo is Texas’s most popular historic site and many other sites can be seen on our Texas Webcams.
