Bordering the Great Lakes in north eastern US, Indiana is densely populated by ‘Hoosiers’, the local nickname for Indiana residents. The state has more miles of interstate highway per square mile than any other state in America and is known as the ‘Crossroads of America’. Indiana actually means ‘Land of Indians’ and one of the best preserved Native American sites can be found at Angel Mounds State Historic Site.
