The central European country of Poland has over 38 million people spread over its 312,000 km2 (120,000 square miles) of countryside. It has 21 mountains and a staggering 9,300 lakes. The capital city is Warsaw, on the River Wisla, and one of its most famous sons was the composer, Chopin. The average income of a Polish worker today is just $6,400 which is low by many other country’s standards.
