Minnesota is in the American Midwest and is nicknamed the ‘Land of 10,000 Lakes’. It is the northernmost state apart from Alaska. Most of its 5million residents live in the ‘Twin Cities’ of St Paul and Minneapolis and the remainder of the huge state is given over to forests and agriculture on the huge prairies. Despite its cold, snowy winters, it is known as one of the healthiest states to live in and it has a high literate population.

Minnesota has professional teams in all major sports and for some reason has the highest number of golfers per capita than any other state. Minnesota Vikings Football team and the Minnesota Twins Major League Baseball are some of the best known.
Minnesota also gave the world Scotch tape, Wheaties cereal, Bisquick, the bundt pan, Aveda beauty products and Green Giant vegetables.
