Rutland is an English county located in a part of the country known as the East Midlands. The county covers an area of just under one-hundred and fifty square miles between the cities of Leicester and Peterborough. While it may be classed as England’s smallest county, it’s where Rutland Water is located. The ginormous reservoir isn’t only the biggest man-made lake in the UK, it’s also one of the biggest in Europe and home to all manner of wildlife including ospreys who fly there from Africa to nest every year.
