Laos is a country that’s a quarter of a million square kilometres of contrasts. While it may be landlocked by Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar and China, it’s a southeast Asian country that has never lost its individuality. Home to exceptional waterways like the Mekong River and the Nam Khan plus cities like Luang Prabang, which is now almost entirely a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it’s unique and hopefully will stay just as it is for many years to come.
