Quebec is Canada’s largest province by area and is located in east-central Canada. It is the only province to have a predominantly French-speaking identity and french is in fact Quebec’s official language. Most of its 7.7 million population live near the St Lawrence River between Montreal and Quebec City, the capital.
This prosperous area produces dairy products, fruit, vegetables, foie gras, fish and maple syrup of which Quebec is the world’s largest producer. Around Montreal there are many high-tech industries along with aerospace and video games companies.
