Bosnia and Herzegovina are in the south east of Europe and were formerly part of Yugoslavia. It is a mostly mountainous country and is heavily forested. The capital city is Sarajevo, perhaps best known as the host of the 1984 Winter Olympics.|
Bosnia’s highest peak is Maglic at 2386metres (7826 feet). Travnik is a particularly beautiful mountain town and Foca lies on the River Drina. Bosnia’s main industry is agriculture, based on small privately-owned farms.
Tourism is a growth industry with historical and cultural interests as well as being a popular skiing and ecotourism destination. Hiking, walking and whitewater rafting are all in demand as you can see from the great scenery on our webcams.
