Yukon Webcams

The Yukon is the smallest and most westerly of Canada’s federal territories. It was created in 1898 at the start of the Gold Rush in the area. The highest mountain in Canada can be found in Yukon. Mount Logan stands in Kluane National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is 5959m (19551 feet) high. The Arctic climate deters all but the hardiest folk and just 33,000 people live amongst the snow capped mountains and snow-melt lakes. With its catchy motto ‘Larger then Life’ it attracts many tourists each summer.

The capital city, which is also the largest city, is Whitehorse. Traditional trapping and fishing have declined in favour of mining lead, zinc, silver, gold, asbestos and copper although the Government sector is by far the biggest employer. Check out the natural beauty of this area through our Yukon Webcams.
