The Maldives is a group of 1199 coral islands far from land in the Indian Ocean. It is a popular destination for relaxing beach holidays and offers great snorkeling and diving (see our Meemu atoll webcam).
It is the smallest Asian country, in terms of population, and the smallest Muslim nation in the world.
It is also the flattest. The high point of the islands is the Addu Atoll at just 2.4metres (7 feet 9 inches) above sea level.
With alarming reports of rising sea levels, perhaps you should check how these beautiful tropical islands are faring through our Maldives webcams.
