Essex is one of the most densely populated areas in England. Located between London and the North Sea, it is perhaps best known for its busy Stansted airport which continues to offer budget flights to sunnier climes. To keep things simple, most of the coastal towns have the suffix “on-Sea” in their names including Clacton and Southend, which incidentally is home to the longest pier in the world!
